NON-VERBAL PERFORMANCE

La Mignola is a tiny, very tiny little girl who one day is kidnapped by a frog determined to marry her off to his son. In the adventures of this fairy tale by master storyteller Andersen, the frog will not be the only suitor chosen for her, “for her own good”, without her wishes ever being heard. Guided by a butterfly, a little fish and a swallow, la Mignola manages to save herself each time, escaping imposed and loveless bonds, until she finally finds herself free in a field of flowers: free to live, to choose, to love.

Maria Pascale takes on the roles of writer, set designer and director to meet young audiences through a theatrical journey made up of stations, small spaces and the larger-than-life details of the fairy tale, where material becomes poetry. A sensory journey in which hearing, smell, sight and touch guide the narrative and accompany the audience’s gaze.

The interactive ending is a tribute to Maya and to nature, of which we human beings might once again feel a part if we tried to... make ourselves smaller and look at the world from above... from a tiny flower.
