A place far from the world, a city adrift. The Mayor has fled, the Deputy Mayor is nowhere to be found. The Councillor for Labour kicks homeless people, while the Councillor for Youth Policy is in prison for drug dealing. The Councillor for Culture is an absolute dictator and once a year organizes the Foam Party.
Here, a young actor teaches theatre—or something like it—in a middle school. It is his first day. He stands silently in front of 23 students. They stare at him. He is about to speak, to explain why he is there. A boy raises his hand.
“You’re the theatre guy.”
The actor says yes.
“Well, I’m never going to do theatre. Because theatre is old and Mussolini invented it... yeah, the guy who sucks his own penis...”
Loosely inspired by a very true story, this is the story of a theatre workshop. From its very first steps to the final act: the end-of-year performance.
