VA-CCHE GIOSTRA!

A hand-painted carousel, restored for the Cow edition of the festival, welcomes five children at a time and comes to life thanks to the adults who set it in motion. Inspired by the French carousels often found at children’s festivals, the Vacca Giostra was conceived by Dario Moretti in 2016, on the occasion of the Milk Festival, and built entirely in wood. Hand-painted, it features cows with different expressions and large milk bottles.

Through its imagery, it evokes the art of hand milking: the children sit in a circle on seats reminiscent of the stools found in barns where the milker traditionally sits, each facing a painted cow. The carousel is powered by the adults pushing it, making it a truly ecological carousel.

A theatrical installation that offers “a fantastic journey on the farm, among its animals and products, imagining the magical transformations of milk”, all within the time of a ride on the carousel.

A small, unmissable journey through play and imagination—a game of fantasy, but also of shared action, in which everyone, parent and child, plays their part.
