WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
U.MANI.TÀ is an innovative, completely original and creative performance by Jacopo Tealdi, a pioneer of “Manual Theatre”.
Completely unique in its genre, Manual Theatre is a fusion of puppetry, storytelling and gestural dance, created through the simplicity of bare hands.
The title is designed to convey the performance’s aim as clearly as possible: bringing the artist’s hands to life.
THE PERFORMANCE
The stage is a luminous frame, while the actors are “handmade” characters whose faces are created by interweaving the fingers. Jacopo Tealdi’s two hands, #quellodellemani, become a captivating cast of characters who tell stories, dance and interact with the audience in a performance full of surprises, laughter, wonder and poetry.
The characters brought to life through this manipulation interact with the audience and begin a story that invites us to look at the meaning of life through their “eyes” (or rather… thumbs!)
THE MAIN CHARACTERS
A wicked professor of ethno-anthropology who will destroy children’s fairy tales, making both adults and children laugh at the same jokes, but for very different reasons.
The inner child and the frontman of the show. Kind and naive, his deeply moving monologues touch and inspire audiences of all ages.
Lady Wanda, a sweet diva and fascinating pop star, represents the feminine side within all of us.
…And finally, the simplicity of a love story between two hands which, through the beauty of movement, reveal the complexity of love and relationships.
