Jacopo Tealdi was born with two hands.
It’s not exactly unusual, but he decided to use them badly.
After years of theatre training, he discovered that they could speak.
Since then, he has been trying to make them shut up.
Jacopo Tealdi, known as #quellodellemani, is an actor, writer, director, poet and researcher of gesture. His hands become faces that tell comic and poetic stories through theatre, dance and mime, engaging audiences of all ages in performances that are quite literally made by hand!
Jacopo Tealdi offers a surprising and innovative theatrical experience through his Manual Theatre.
In this new performance genre, hands become storytellers, expressing emotions and creating memorable characters such as Mr. Piccolino, Prof. Luis Daimon and Lady Wanda.
Through a combination of mime, physical theatre, commedia dell’arte, dance, dance theatre, visual sign, puppetry and stand-up comedy, Jacopo engages audiences in unique performances that have been applauded in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Japan and Colombia. For those who would like to explore his technique further, he offers the workshops “Mental Gymnastics” and “The Art of Gesture”, dedicated to physical training and cognitive exercise.
